associated with current development SD-2011/30 along Oceana Drive. As this
development is still ongoing could council, please advise who has carried out these
works, who has funded these works and why?

Glebe Hill Shopping Centre – Parking

taking up 10 parking spots and more recently 2 container refund scheme collection
shipping containers were installed taking up 5 car parking spots. As these are

- Governance
- Copping Refuse Disposal Site Joint Authority - Approval of rule changes
- Submission in response to proposed draft Development Assessment Panels Bill consultation
- The new bill is very similar to the old bill, and will sink in the Legislative Council for much the same reasons.
- Motions on Notice
Cr Goyne: Implementation of Trial Period for Spray Signage (as deferred from last meeting)
- That Council considers including funding for temporary signage in the upcoming
budget, for a 12 month trial, to inform residents of when and what chemicals have
been sprayed in public parks and reserves, that will remain on display for a period
of seven days from spraying.
- That during the trial period, Council staff consult with other Councils and industry
professionals on how they inform residents of spraying and current best practice
methods.
- That, during the trial period, Council conducts community consultation on the
current Herbicide Use Plan and seek to gain an understanding of what community
expectations are moving forward.
- That, Council investigates extension of the time period that residents can opt in to
the current no spray register (currently a four week period from 1 June each year).
- That, at the end of the trial period, a councillor workshop is undertaken to review
the trial and its findings.
- Cr Goyne conducted a survey on Facebook of 149 people, almost assuredly self-selecting and not scientifically rigorous:
- 22 happy with current practices
- 39 signs up for seven days
- 31 signs and update the website
- 57 phase out all herbicides and pesticides
- CEO notes that Council already intends to provide permanent and/or temporary signage in places where herbicides are in use, and is preparing budget submissions to that effect. Further, Council already intends to review the No Spray Register process after this year's application process.
- The underlying principles are a little flimsy, and the duplication of planned work probably sinks it, but this motion is better than I would have otherwise anticipated from Goyne
- Councillors' Question Time
Answers to Previous Questions Without Notice
- Council is aware of ongoing issues with the Bellerive Beach Park
water pump. The pump has been repeatedly damaged by children forcing sand into the
system and requires replacement parts and interim repairs regularly.
Council is investigating alternative designs or modifications to improve the pump’s ability
to withstand this issue. In the meantime, we await supply of a replacement part to
undertake repairs. A weekly briefing report updating Councillors will be provided once a
permanent solution is identified.
- Closed Meeting (Applications for leave, a property matter in Rosny)
